I came in right after an event and while they were still wrapping things up, they were extremely friendly and welcoming. However, the thing about J Rocks was the food. I had the catfish poboy and it is by far one of the best that I have ever had. The fish was thick and crunchy and the sandwich had what tasted like picked red onions and pickles on it. The bread was soft and the okra was cooked to perfection. Anytime, I come to or thru Topeka this is going to be a go to place for me!

Catfish dinner, fried okra (mmmmm), beans (haven't tried them yet). Fish was very good, good breading, cooked right. No complaints. Also bought a slab of ribs. Tender, fall off the bone, sauce is good and the ribs are dry, the way I like, let me decide, sauce, how much, so, good there. Staff was pleasant. They even had RC Cola in the fridge. I haven't had an RC since I was kid, pleasant surprise. I'll definitely be going back in the future.

It was a lovely place to share a family meal with my girl. It's the back woods family restaurateurs feel I look for with soul food at its top game. It just drips from the bones, it's so good. We did a tour of building, I love to show off J Rocks Smokehouse LLC. The facilities were very clean

The catfish is amazing. Some of the best I've EVER had. Greens. Mac n cheese and green beans are good too ...Oh yea The young man who helped us was very professional and Helpful ! Thanks for a great experience!!!

Found this little hideaway place in the south east of Topeka at 21st street that serves these amazing BBQ pork ribs! Very meaty portion and had fried okra for the 1st time. The staff is group of hardworking young people and very friendly. Only 3 tables, mostly take away customers. Worth to visit them again!

Best Catfish I've had ever. J Rocks is my go to restaurant for Fried Catfish, sweet potatoes and mac n cheese. For my hubby he enjoys their French Fries and Fried Okra with his Catfish. The portions are huge and usually make 2 meals for me. All their other offerings look so good and one day when I'm not craving their super delicious, perfectly seasoned and fried catfish, I will venture into trying everything else that is offered
